Captain Feathersword's Treasure Hunt
Fill a big paddling pool with paper shredding, or similar packing material, and hide generous quantities of plastic or chocolate coins inside, spreading them evenly around. Stand back and watch the kids (and parents) diving around inside hunting for the coins.
